Here is my "hello" to my watchers...there should be quite a lot of them, but actually most of them left dA without deleting their account. They just don't log in anymore, or they seldom do.
We all know why.
Sadly, Deviant Art is no longer the amazing place it used to be some years ago, and I myself realize that being here is no longer so exciting and interesting as it was in the past.
But still, I'm here, not being able to completely leave the site and my friends.
And now few lines about the title of this journal...
I think the right time for a change has come...in Europe at least, but not only there.
Each human being should strive to become estranged from his own particular condition and observe our little planet from space to realize how ridiculous and pathetic we are in our daily fights against each other.
Where is the greatness of humanity? How far will we go before being aware of the abyss into which we all risk falling?
I live in Italy, and never in the past few years I have been so disgusted by our ruling class, and discouraged by the blindness of too large a part of the Italian people who have been suffering a daily brainwashing by the media (television and newspapers) that are now in the hands of very few people who use them as an instrument of power.
Living here gets more and more difficult every day. Poverty is more widespread and deeper as days go by, while the stolen wealth of a bunch of powerful or unscrupulous individuals is greater and greater.
The economic power of Germany and of the financial world dominates, and whole nations have the horrible feeling that we are going back in time by 70 years at least. Threatening ghosts of the past century haunt our old Europe.
Will anybody among the powerful rulers of Europe understand that if we tread the old values on which our civilization is founded (solidarity, respect for the rights of minorities, social equity, etc.)., we will lose all we have built over centuries and centuries of history?
I am not able to answer such a question. Personally, however, I try to base my life on those values that I just mentioned, and, as a teacher, I try to inspire in my students the desire to live in full compliance with them.
I also try very hard not to lose hope and to look forward with optimism, and faith in the intellect and in the instinct of survival of humanity.
Much love to all my friends...
